In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share a list of the book love interests that have stolen my heart. It was hard to narrow down because I’ve read so many amazing romances over the last year or so and so many of the love interests had me swooning on behalf of the main characters, but here it is: my top 10 favorite book boyfriends and girlfriends.
1. Henry
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
My Review
There’s so much that I love about Henry, and I honestly can’t think of anyone more perfect for Alex (and vice-versa).
2. Ned
The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton
My Review
I don’t usually rank the cocky, roguish-type heroes high on my ideal love interest list, but Ned is so smitten with Cecilia from the start that he quickly won me over.
3. Alex
All the Feels by Olivia Dade
My Review
He’s so confident and sexy, and he cares so damn much. Also, he writes fanfiction. How could I not love him?
And honestly, I simply couldn’t bring myself to choose between Brendon and Annie, so I included them both.
Hang the Moon by Alexandria Bellefleur
My Review
4. Brendon
I adore when the man is the one who is a hopeless romantic (also see number 6), so that coupled with his endearing dorkiness and surprising talent for dirty talk had me swooning.
5. Annie
She starts off closed off, but she cares so much about her friends that I couldn’t help but love her.
6. Ren
Always Only You by Chloe Liese
My Review
He’s a hockey player who is absolutely besotted with Frankie and has an amazing family and a love for Shakespeare. Honestly, Frankie (and I) had no chance.
7. Jack
Lease on Love by Falon Ballard
My Review
Introverted nerd is basically my type, and this soft-hearted, glasses-wearing man is no exception.
8. Elle
Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur
My Review
Anyone who will rush to a thrift store in their pajamas to get a Christmas tree and ornaments to cheer up their girlfriend more than deserves their spot on this list.
9. Jamie
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Anyone who has read at least one book from the Outlander series or has seen an episode of the Starz show needs no explanation as to why James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser is on this list.
And although The Wheel of Time can’t even remotely be considered a romance, my list of book significant others would be incomplete without my favorite sword husband…
10. Lan Mandragoran
The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan (and later, Brandon Sanderson)
My Reviews
If you’ve listened to my podcast, Not the Beginning, you will know that this man has utterly destroyed me. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Robert Jordan did not have the right to write a man this well. He’s stoic and an absolute beast with a sword, but will also surprise you with how fiercely protective and poetic he is.
